Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation Inc.-The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1949 as a major service project of the Lions of Georgia. Its purpose is to provide vision care and used, reconditioned hearing aids to impoverished Georgians. Collection of used eyeglasses for redistribution in Georgia and in developing countries is another major project of the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse also has a Mobile Eye Clinic which travels around the state providing free refractive eye screenings and low cost glasses to needy Georgians.
Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind-The camp is located in Waycross and provides camping and recreational activities to the blind and visually impaired youth and adults of Georgia through camps held during the summer months.
Leader Dogs for the Blind-located in Rochester, Michigan provides Leader Dogs to blind persons to help make them more independent and to help them better function in their sightless world.
Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, Georgia Unit-located in Athens, the unit is one of 22 units of the national organization that is the world’s leading provider of taped educational materials for the blind, visually impaired, dyslexic and other print-disabled students.
Georgia Lions Children’s Eye Center at Emory-located at Emory University the center is researching and treating vision problems in children.
Lions Clubs International Foundation-(LCIF) is the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International (LCI). The foundation's mission is to support the efforts of Lions clubs around the world in serving their local and global communities by funding humanitarian service projects.
White Cane Days-Held yearly in April this is a major source of funds for the Lighthouse. Clubs throughout the state participate by soliciting money on the same day statewide.
